Heather Alexander

Heather Alexander, M.A. Counselling Psychology

Registered Provisional Psychologist

Heather is a warm, compassionate therapist who genuinely cares about her clients. She brings empathy and understanding, shaped by her own life experiences – including divorce, single parenthood, and parenting neurodiverse children.

Heather understands how challenging it can be to break free from generational cycles of trauma, and just how much courage it takes to choose a new path. She feels honoured to support clients who are ready to make meaningful changes and walk alongside them as they create a healthier, more joyful life.

Outside of work she enjoys hands-on home improvements, assembling IKEA furniture, working on puzzles with her children, attending sports events, spending quality time in the mountains, and walking her dog, Snoopy.

Experience & Qualifications

Heather obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree from the University of Calgary in 2018. During her undergraduate journey, she worked part-time administering psychological assessments and writing reports in Red Deer. The experience reinforced her belief in the power of self-understanding and the importance of making life choices that align with one’s abilities, values, interests, and hopes for the future.

Heather moved to Calgary in 2019 and worked as a Behaviour Consultant while completing her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology. She supported families receiving FSCD funding by offering in-home support and practical guidance to help them navigate the unique challenges of raising neurodiverse children. She completed her provisional hours at Calgary Counselling Centre in 2024 where she provided therapy to individuals and couples facing a wide range of mental health challenges.

She joined the Belix Psychology team in 2025 and is enjoying expanding her knowledge base to include neuroscience and attachment-based practices.
